Using the Email Blast Interface & Adding Contacts

The Email Blast tool allows you to create, schedule, and send beautifully crafted emails to targeted segments of your audience. This guide walks you through how to use the interface and add contacts to your blast.


🧭 Interface Overview

When you create or edit an Email Blast, you’ll be presented with a clean and intuitive form broken into sections:

βœ‰οΈ Subject & Preheader

  • Email Subject – The main headline recipients will see.

  • Email Pre-header – The preview text shown next to the subject line in inboxes.

πŸ•’ Send Schedule

  • You can schedule your blast using a Send Date and Send Time.

  • Leave both blank to send immediately by clicking Send Now.

πŸ“ Email Body

  • Includes a rich text editor for formatting.

  • Use the {{ }} buttons to insert dynamic tags (e.g., subscriber names).

πŸ” UTM Tracking (Optional)

  • Add UTM parameters (Medium, Campaign, Source) to track clicks in Google Analytics.

πŸ’Ύ Save or Send

  • Click Save Blast to keep it as a draft.

  • Click Send Now to deliver it immediately (this marks the status as “Active”).


πŸ‘₯ Adding Contacts

Click the Add Contacts button at the top right to open the contact selection modal.

βœ… Select All Contacts

  • Check Select All Contacts to send your blast to every subscribed user.

  • When selected, list and tag filters are ignored.

πŸ—‚ Filter by List, Tag, and Condition

Dropdowns Available:

  • List – Choose a subscriber list to target.

  • Tag – Narrow recipients by tags like β€œbuyer,” β€œseller,” or custom tags.

  • Condition – Choose AND or OR to combine filters:

    • AND: Only contacts in both the list and tag will be selected.

    • OR: Contacts in either the list or tag will be selected.

  • As you select filters, the system shows how many contacts match in real time under:

    • Add Contacts: X Selected

πŸ“Œ Save Selection

  • Click Close (bottom right in the modal) to lock in your selections.

  • The selected subscriber IDs or all_subs will be stored automatically.

πŸ“ Saving Contacts with the Blast

Your selections are stored via hidden fields:

  • subscriber_ids: list of selected contacts or "all_subs"

  • list_ids and tag_ids: for backend notes and reporting


πŸ“¬ Sending the Email

Once everything is set:

  1. Click Save Blast to store it as a draft for later.

  2. Or click Send Now to send immediately (this also sets status to Active).

You’ll be redirected back to the main Email Blasts page after submission.


🧩 Tips

  • Always preview your subject and content before sending.

  • Use UTM tags for better campaign tracking.

  • Review the contact count before finalizing to ensure proper targeting.
