How to Set Up Nameservers for Your Domain

Connecting your domain to your website’s hosting server is an important step to get your site online. This can be done by setting up nameservers or an A Record. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the steps to update your domain’s nameservers or point directly to an IP address.

Log Into Your Domain Registrar

Log in to the platform where you registered your domain (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.).

Navigate to DNS or Nameserver Settings

Once logged in, locate the DNS Settings, Domain Management, or Nameservers section where you can manage your domain’s DNS records.

Update the Nameservers

In the Nameservers section, choose the option to use custom nameservers and enter the following:

ns1.inmotionhosting.com

ns2.inmotionhosting.com

Save Your Changes

After entering the nameservers, click Save or Apply to confirm the changes.

Allow Time for Propagation

It can take up to 24-48 hours for DNS changes to fully propagate across the internet. This is normal, and your site may not be accessible during this time.

Setting Up an A Record

Alternatively, you can set up an A Record to point your domain directly to the server’s IP address.

Access the DNS Management Section

Log into your domain registrar and find the DNS Management or Zone Editor section.

Add or Modify the A Record

Locate the A Record (usually labeled as @) and update it to point to the following IP address: 173.231.215.98

Save Changes

Click Save or Apply to finalize the settings.

Wait for Propagation

Like with nameservers, changes to the A Record can take up to 24-48 hours to propagate.
